Real Estate at Playa Potrero & Surfside, and Playas La Penca & Prieta

Playa Potrero stretches north from the Flamingo Beach Marina, and our office is just above that. This beautiful bay offers a wide variety of lifesyles and different properties. From beachside villas, to townhouse apartments in small villages, to homes n an established expat community at Surfside, to a series of secluded small coves below small cliffs, with residential areas on the wooded slopes above.  Something for everyone, and facilities never far away (shops, cafes. restaurants), and that includes an international school. It is a great place to raise a family.

PLAYA POTRERO

The quiet and gorgeous bay of Playa Potrero is situated in the province of Guanacaste, where visitors enjoy dreamy summer days along the numerous beaches and warm turquoise waters. The area is rich with exotic plant and wildlife and to the east, a string of volcanic mountain ranges border the Province.

In the Playa Potrero area, visitors can choose from a wide variety of water sports such as scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, surfing, stand-up-paddling, and kayaking. They can also enjoy world-class deep-sea fishing for Marlin, Tuna and Swordfish. The Playa Flamingo community to the south maintains a full service marina offering boating excursions and water sport rentals. For those wanting to get off the beach and discover the surrounding rainforest, Santa Rosa National Park and Palo Verde Natural Reserve are not far away.

To reach the small paradise of Playa Potrero, a drive from Liberia’s International Airport takes 45 minutes, or it is four hours from San Jose.

Playa Potrero may not be the first place you hear about when you first get to Costa Rica, but you should give it a visit, you will be pleasantly surprised! Furthermore,
there are gorgeous little bays on this part of the coast where small communities have settled down and they are all very scenic and idealistic. Try the luxurious Villas of Villagio Flor del Pacifico, a peaceful stretch of coastline perfect for that sunset stroll, and great for swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving.

Surfside Estates, is a quiet seaside residential community at Potrero Beach with locally owned businesses, including restaurants, grocery stores, hotels and cabinas. Surfside is a well-established neighborhood with an international community of both year round and seasonal residents, plus vacationing tourists from around the world. You will hear English as often as you hear Spanish!  Set along the calm waters of Playa Potrero, this neighborhood is in an excellent location for families with children who wish to attend the Country Day School, La Paz Community School or the new Gold Coast Learning Center. La Paz the closest school only 5 minute distance driving. It’s the perfect place to get some distance from the ‘ratrace’. It is tranquil here and you can really feel in touch with nature but still have all ‘mod-cons’.

Playa Potrero is next to the old fishing village of Potrero. The town offers everything you need including shops, restaurants, and bars. If you want a quiet peaceful
Costa Rica vacation, come to Playa Potrero. Other more lively towns like Tamarindo, Brasilito and Flamingo, are just a short distance away, so if you like the nightlife, you don’t have too far to take a taxi home!
Guanacaste Costa Rica is known for having the most amount of sun and the least amount of rain all year round! That means more time at the beach.
Try the luxurious Villas of Villagio Flor del Pacifico, a peaceful stretch of coastline perfect for that sunset stroll, and great for swimming, snorkeling or scuba
diving.
Maybe the most precious hidden treasure nearing perfection are the charming Playa Pan de Azucar and Playa Danta, an example of what a pristine beaches should be like in Costa Rica. Made of stretches of brilliant white sands caused maybe by the volcanic rocks dating from the Tertiary Era, they barely reach a kilometre in length.
The hotel Sugar Beach is perfect, you wish to stay there for a few resting days. At the little town of Guapelines, by Penca Point, the land drops directly in the sea, resulting in white cliffs criss-crossed by shiny streams in the rainy season; quite an extraordinary sight in this area. It is possible to go hiking from Playa Pan de Azucar to Playa Danta. The tiny Pitahayas Islets can be seen from Playa Danta, and further South you discover the Santa Catalina Island when you stand on Salinas Point.
From Playa Pan de Azucar you can see the small Cocoyas Islands, Plata Island and Playa Potrero. Finally, you have Playa Prieta, between Potrero and Penca, where you can rent gorgeous luxurious villas by the day, week, or month.

PLAYA LA PENCA

Playa la Penca is a very tranquil and beautiful beach stretching along a small cove bordered on either side by rocky points and jungle. The white and coffee sanded beach gets little wave action, making it a peaceful place to swim, picnic, and enjoy all day long. Spanning roughly a kilometer, this sheltered beach remains a well hidden treasure to be enjoyed.

PLAYA PRIETA

Playa Prieta is just south of Playa Azucar (Sugar Beach) and neighbors Playa Penca. It is a beautiful white and black sand beach formed around a small bay that spans about 400 meters. Prieta offers a spectacular view of the Flamingo Bay area and its surrounding beaches and islands. The clear blue waters contrast the abundant green vegetation that spans the length of the beach, making this a perfect place to swim, body surf, and lounge on the beach and catch some sun.
